NEW Revolutionary “Interlocking Layer DampingTM” Technology

The progress never stops here at WCA. In one year’s time, our engineers have developed a new patented process called “Interlocking Layer Damping” where there is no longer a need to split the cam or wheel into halves in order to get the damping efficiencies as needed on previous models.
The new patented process consists of machining a “solid-one piece” machined cam or wheel as you will find with any other cam or wheel and then is placed into a mold where the BowDAMPTM material then is over-molded and interlocked onto the part. This new patent pending process allows the BowDAMPTM material to be mechanically interlocked as well as chemically bonded to the metal substrates; thus, resulting in further noise & vibration elimination efficiencies without affecting the structural integrity of the system.

How It Works…
This area is “pre-loaded” under static loading (bow at rest). Since the string loading is “constant” on both the cam and wheel, the compression forces always remain uniform throughout the draw cycle and shot; thus, guaranteeing to never affect the draw force curve, flatness in the material, or accuracy.
The “suspension chamber” under the string is designed such that it will only behave as a “suspension” drive system after impact occurs (after the shot). The suspension effect is achieved because the dynamic (impact of shot) loading is far greater than the static (bow at rest) loading. Due to the dynamic loading or impact, the “suspension chamber” compresses like a mechanical coil spring; thus, squeezing out the vibration and noise shot after shot!

How It Works…
Material flows in and around strategically placed “flow ports” that once the over-molding process is complete, it creates a mechanical interlock system within the cam or wheel that is unbelievable.

With our patent pending BowDAMPTM Technology, it’s just possible that you may never again have to replace strings, bushings, bearings, or parts! Components made from the innovative BowDAMPTM material, special formulated acoustical “suspension” damping material, are stronger, tougher, and more durable than components made from conventional elastomers, steels, aluminums, and/or plastics. The BowDAMPTM material is also lighter than aluminum. Most importantly, the BowDAMPTM Material is very versatile while other materials will only give you one or a few characteristics but NOT all. The BowDAMPTM Material has “all of the characteristics” such as noise, acoustical, and vibration damping all integrated into one material without having to give up strength, durability, flex, and/or wear resistance. Our BowDAMPTM Material Technology is also unaffected by temperature and moisture unlike rubbers and other elastomers. Most elastomers, such as rubber, will lose their damping characteristics and strength under extreme climates; however, this is not the case with the BowDAMPTM Material. The BowDAMPTM Material retains its elasticity whether it is soft or hard where most plastics and/or elastomers will lose their elasticity. It resists breakage even in the hardest formulations where most elastomers such as rubber will not. Therefore, the BowDAMPTM Material is excellent for low to high impact with repetitive pounding such as the use with our bows! The BowDAMPTM Material will not swell or deteriorate in water where most plastics and/or elastomers will. Our BowDAMPTM Material Technology was designed to resist high impact as well as having “outstanding” abrasive resistance. Its abrasive resistance is about 20 times better than that of steel – that’s right steel! It is also known for its toughness and durability. Its compression characteristics are better than any mechanical coil spring and it is designed to return to its original shape shot after shot! The BowDAMPTM Material is superior to other elastomers on almost all accounts. Other elastomers, such as rubbers, will generally fail under repeated flexing due to the development and propagation of cracks.
